Technological transformation is a critical initiative for enterprises to optimize their production capacity structure and strengthen their core competitiveness. Since the beginning of the year, Harbin Transformer Company has closely monitored production bottlenecks and focused on key development challenges, vigorously advancing technological upgrades and transformations centered on priority tasks such as capacity expansion, quality improvement, and safety assurance. By introducing new equipment, upgrading aging machinery, and optimizing end-to-end processes, the company has continuously promoted the intelligent modernization of its production lines, elevated product quality, and enhanced operational efficiency, thereby injecting strong, substantive momentum into the group’s high-quality development.
The company has precisely aligned its operations with market demand and production pain points, aggressively introducing a suite of cutting-edge, high-performance new equipment and facilities that span the entire production chain—from material preparation and welding to winding, assembly, and material handling—thereby establishing a new, intelligent and highly efficient production paradigm.
Enhancing welding automation. Four new robotic attachment welding workstations and a large-tank welding workstation have been added, enabling integrated root-pass TIG welding and cap-pass GMAW welding. This has led to significant improvements in weld quality and non-destructive testing pass rates, reduced leakage risks, and effective expansion of welding capacity; the large-tank workstation supports 24-hour continuous production, with productivity 1.5 times higher than manual operations, thereby reducing reliance on skilled welders and ensuring stable, controllable quality. Strengthening coil winding and insulation processing capabilities. The company has introduced foil winding machines, high-voltage automatic wire-dispensing machines, high-precision molds, and vertical winding machines, filling the gap in the production of low-voltage foil coils rated at 35 kV and above. Coil quality and production capacity have both improved concurrently, while also alleviating the demands of high-intensity manual operations. In addition, an insulation-processing center and an engraving machine have been added, enabling CNC machining of complex-shaped insulating components and addressing the low precision and poor safety associated with traditional manual processing. Improving handling and lifting efficiency. The company has recently acquired heavy-duty lift platforms, electric AGV transport vehicles, new-type lifting beams, and gantry cranes, significantly enhancing handling and lifting efficiency and safety to meet the demands of high-capacity product manufacturing. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art vacuum oil-filtering unit has been added, boosting oil-filling efficiency and oil quality and providing reliable assurance for transformer performance.
While introducing new equipment, the company is focusing on upgrading aging assets, optimizing production processes, and enhancing safety and environmental protection, undertaking systematic modernization initiatives to revitalize existing assets and provide a solid foundation for continuous and stable production.
Efforts have been made to upgrade equipment performance. The company has undertaken a comprehensive overhaul of Coal Oil’s Phase-Change Drying Tanks No. 1, covering eight core modules—including the vacuum system, condensation system, and heating system—and has installed dew-point meters on Tanks No. 1 through No. 4 to enable real-time monitoring and precise control of the transformer core drying process, thereby ensuring thorough drying. In terms of process and workflow optimization, the oil system (for 25# and 45# oils) has been upgraded, with enhancements to the heating and vacuum systems as well as the high-flow oil pump unit; a plate-and-frame oil filter and online monitoring capabilities have also been added, allowing for real-time monitoring of oil gas content and particle size and meeting the requirement for simultaneous operation at three oil-filling stations in the workshop. Furthermore, safety and environmental protection improvements have been implemented: the company has replaced the aging sliding doors between the cold-working shop and the assembly shop’s fitting area with electric lift-and-slide doors, eliminating the long-term problem of doors being left open due to inconvenient manual operation and effectively isolating the paint-spraying process from environmental pollution.
Technological transformation is the core driving force behind a company’s high-quality development. The company steadfastly upholds the principle of “empowering and revitalizing new growth momentum through technological transformation,” continuously deepens the implementation of transformation projects, and drives comprehensive improvements in production capacity and efficiency, product quality, operational safety, and environmental management. By leveraging technological innovation to drive industrial upgrading, the company ensures that all 2026 business targets are achieved and deliver tangible results, thereby injecting strong momentum into its high-quality development.
